Please share anything else about your experience The thing that “sold” me on WCS is the Responsive Classroom Curriculum. It is a very structured and smart system by which all faculty and students learn to handle conflicts assertively. The vibe of this school is very peaceful and happy. A zero-tolerance of bullying is taken very seriously from the classrooms, to recess, to the buses.
The second grade curriculum explores extensively where our food comes from and includes the students active cultivation of an edible garden.
The school has started working towards a healthy school lunch program which will gradually include more and more local foods, and hopefully in the future opportunities for students to be involved in the food prep process.
