At St. Peter's School, the children learn to be good individuals: tolerant, respectful, honest, cooperative, kind and engaged in their community through service. The curriculum and school are a structured environments: students wear uniforms and civility is expected. The St. Peter's School experience will prepare my child to enter the professional world successfully. 
The high caliber of the students and the diversity are what make Masterman special. Masterman has a reputation with some of being the "public school that is more like a private school" but that is so incorrect. We have kids from every neighborhood in the city and every income level. 
This Wednesday evening, I will be at Congregation Rodeph Shalom hosting a meetup for families of young children in Center City/Fairmount who are embarking on the elementary school search. Come, enjoy some pizza, learn a little bit about the process of choosing a school in Philly, and meet other parents in the same boat.

Heavy rain outside foreshadowed the mood inside. The room was filled with hard uncomfortable seats designed for much smaller bodies. 100 nervous parents filled the school multipurpose room. 
So today is the day many of you have been anticipating. Today Independence Charter is hosting its public enrollment lottery tonight at 6 PM. If you go, what should you expect?
