I'm quoted today in an article describing the growing popularity of center city as a destination for parents and how it is impacting enrollment and school quality at all types of schools. 
New items of interest to parents this week, from all over the media. 
It seems like wherever I turn, there is another story about Philadelphia School District Superintendent Arlene Ackerman doing something bad. Undermining her team, being undermined by her team, mishandling the school violence problem, her huge salary, or just the general malaise I hear on message boards--all of it paints a very negative picture. Yet in the midst of all of that, she goes and wins an award as the top urban school leader in the U.S.
